Join Us at Booth 1807 During EDUCAUSE 2017

Posted in Schoology | October 27, 2017

Are you going to EDUCAUSE this year? We are, and we'll be hosting some great presentations that you definitely don't want to miss.

So drop by Booth #1807 and say hi, grab some swag, and soak up all the insights our speakers have to offer.

Our EDUCAUSE Presentation Schedule

We're hosting presentations at our booth throughout the conference. This year, we have the honor of having two guest speakers from Lancaster Bible College, Assistant Provost Chris VanBuskirk and Instructional Technologist William Illingworth. You can see their session information below.

Wednesday, November 1

10:00 am

Leveraging Your Google/Microsoft Solutions Within the Schoology LMS
Adam Larson, Director of Educational Strategy, Schoology

Schoology's proprietary assignment apps for both Google and Microsoft allows you to use Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive apps alongside other content tools to create the best curriculum experience for your students:

  • Search existing Google Drive and OneDrive accounts and reuse existing docs, sheets, or slides (for students and teachers)
  • Use Schoology rubrics to grade Google and Microsoft assignments from inside the Schoology user experience
  • Grade Google and Microsoft documents in a way that’s integrated with Schoology gradebook and mastery reporting

12:00 pm

Collaboration in Schoology: Icing on the Cake
Chris VanBuskirk, Associate Provost, Lancaster Bible College

In 2014 LBC embarked on an extensive search for the right LMS. We were looking for an intuitive interface, support for innovative instructional design, and mobile friendly. We got all that and more; a platform that allowed students an faculty to collaborate outside the confines of a structured course.

1:00 pm

Deconstructing Digital Discussions
William Illingworth, Instructional Technologist, Lancaster Bible College

When you think of digital discussions, you think text. Join me as we deconstruct the idea of a digital discussion and reframe our thinking around two main concepts: text-based analysis and response and audio/video conversations.

4:00 pm

Don't Just Digitize Your Tests; Advance Them with Schoology's Enhanced Question Types
Chris Arvanitis, National Solutions Director, Schoology

Assessing students is one of the most vital parts of the education experience. Schoology has drastically improved not only how instructors build assessments but how students engage with them. We have built out a brand new workflow designed to make it easier for teachers to build out engaging assessment with over 15 enhanced questions (image highlighting, hotspots, math formulas, etc.).

Thursday, November 2

9:30 am

Granular Permissions—The Right Level for Everyone on Your Campus
Adam Larson, Director of Educational Strategy, Schoology

See how Schoology can allow everyone to access what they need, without accessing more than that. These section level roles allow a course administrator to grant more granular permissions based on who that user is and what abilities they need to further the educational experience of your students.
