Graphic Academics: Pixton's Comic Maker Now in the App Center

Posted in News | March 26, 2013

Have you ever wanted to make your own comics but were unsure how to start? Well, you might want to sit down for this:

Pixton for Schools just joined the Schoology App Center!

Believe it. Now you can engage your students with dynamic lessons that cater to both visual and textual learners. Pixton has streamlined the creative process so you can easily design characters, move them around like action figures, crop your shots, insert real pictures, and add text anywhere you want.

Not the creative type? Turn your students into comic artists.

One student-made comic provides valuable insight into their understanding of storytelling (visual and written), characterization, dialogue, grammar, vocabulary, composition, color theory, and more!

The best part is that these comics can be saved as resources and attached anywhere in Schoology that allows attachments! Students can even submit their comics to the course dropbox directly from the app.

Want to see it in action? Check out this comic about Schoology’s Pixton integration:

Pixton’s Comic Maker has a 30-day free trial for up to 50 seats. After that, it requires an annual subscription starting at $60 per year.

If you’re interested in boosting your students’ creative, artistic, reading, and writing skills using a simple and fun app, check out Pixton’s Comic Maker in our App Center.
